Cookie policy
Local Service Ads AI is operated by Local Service Ads AI. Last updated 25 September 2026.
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local Service Ads AI uses very few. On our own site none of them are used to build a profile of you or to show you ads on other sites; section 2 explains the one case on a business's landing page where Google's cookies can be used to show you that business's ads again. This page lists every cookie we set, what it is for and how to control it. In the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland, the optional ones are only set if you press "Accept" in the cookie pop-up (section 3).
1. Cookies on Local Service Ads AI (this site)
| Cookie | What it does | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Host-session | Keeps you signed in and remembers messages between pages. Signed so it cannot be tampered with. | Essential | Until you sign out or close your browser |
| __Host-trusted | Set after you sign in with the 6-digit emailed code, so this browser is not asked for a code again. Signed; tied to your account and reset by a password change. | Essential | 30 days |
| lsa_consent | Remembers your answer to the cookie pop-up ("yes" or "no") so we don't ask on every page. Only set once you have answered. | Essential | 6 months |
| lsa_ref | Set only if you arrive through an affiliate's link (a web address ending in ?ref=code). Records which affiliate referred you so they can be paid if you sign up. Contains only the affiliate's code. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland: only if you accept. | Functional (first party) | 90 days |
We do not run analytics trackers, social-media pixels or retargeting tags on this site. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland, Google's tag script is loaded with consent set to "denied" until you accept: it sets no cookies, though your browser does fetch the script from Google (which sees your IP address) and Google may receive cookieless pings. Everywhere else, measurement runs as normal. The font used on this site is loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google to fetch the font file; Google says it does not use this to set cookies or to track you.
2. Cookies on landing pages we host for businesses
Pages at staging.localserviceads.ai/p/… or on a customer's own domain are built and hosted by us for the business named on the page. Pages of businesses in the UK, EEA and Switzerland ask every visitor first, and set only lsa_consent unless you accept. On those pages:
| Cookie | What it does | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| lsa_consent | Remembers your answer to the cookie pop-up on that page ("yes" or "no"). Only on pages that ask, and only once you have answered. | Essential | 6 months |
| lpv<number> | When a page is being split tested (two versions), remembers which version you saw so it stays consistent. Contains only the letter "a" or "b". | Functional (first party) | 30 days |
| _gcl_au, _gcl_aw, _gcl_gs and similar | Google Ads conversion measurement for the business's own ads: records that a click on their ad led to a call or an enquiry. Set by Google, in the business's Google Ads account. | Advertising measurement (third party) | Up to 90 days |
| Google Ads remarketing (IDE, _gcl_au and similar, on google.com and doubleclick.net) | Retargeting: lets Google add your browser to that business's "people who visited our page" list, so the business's own ads can be shown to you again on other sites and apps for up to 90 days. We and the business never see who is on the list; it lives inside Google. People who send an enquiry are taken off it. In the UK, EEA and Switzerland: only if you accept. | Advertising (third party) | Up to 90 days on the list |
A business can also add its own measurement code to its pages (for example Google Analytics or a Meta pixel), which may set that provider's cookies; on pages that ask first, that code does not run at all unless you accept. Fonts on those pages are also loaded from Google Fonts. Enquiry forms themselves do not use cookies; a hidden field catches spam robots instead.
3. Consent and how to opt out
Australia and most other countries do not require consent for these cookies; we tell you about them here and in our privacy policy instead. UK, EEA and Switzerland: we ask first. A pop-up with two buttons, "No thanks" and "Accept", appears on this site when your device's clock is set to a UK or European time zone, and on every landing page of a business based there. Until you press "Accept", Google's ad-measurement and retargeting cookies stay switched off (Google Consent Mode, "denied"), the affiliate and split-test cookies are not set, and a business's own measurement code does not run. "No thanks" keeps it that way, and everything works the same. Your answer is remembered for 6 months; to change it at any time, use the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the page.
To block or delete cookies, use your browser's settings (usually under Privacy or Site data); blocking the __Host-session cookie means you cannot stay signed in. To opt out of Google ad measurement and personalised (retargeting) ads everywhere, use Google's Ads Settings or the Google opt-out add-on.
4. Changes
If we add a cookie, it will be listed here first and the date at the top updated.
